The cyber threat to Apple Mac users continues to grow, with 1,499 new malicious programs detected by Kaspersky Lab in 2014 .



The average user of Apple Mac new cyber threats for 2014 met, according to a new study of antivirus and Internet security company Kaspersky Lab, a total of 1,499 new malware for Mac OS X detected during the year - 200 more than in 2013.

According to Kaspersky Security Bulletin 2014, every second user of Kaspersky Lab products for Mac OS X has been exposed to a malicious attack, a total of 3,693,936 attempts blocked infection.

"In recent years we have discovered more and more samples of malware targeting Mac devices. However, there is still a misconception that Mac OS X is immune to malware and viruses," said David Emm, senior security researcher at Kaspersky Lab .
